Integrated Media Technologies Inc. to Make NAB Debut

Year-Old Technology Specialist Provides Media Storage and Asset Management Expertise to Producers, Content Owners and Distributors

Integrated Media Technologies, Inc. will be exhibiting its ground-breaking solutions for creating, managing, storing and distributing digital media content at the upcoming National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas. It will mark the first time that IMT, a company formed last year by former executives from Sun Microsystems and Avid Technologies, has participated in NAB. It will be exhibiting at booth number SU8525 and meeting rooms S115/S118.

IMT will showcase tools for filed-based workflows and archiving solutions that it has implemented for such production powerhouses as Rhythm & Hues and Jim Henson Productions. The company’s areas of expertise include enterprise class computing, networking, and storage systems. It also offers IT consulting services, including project management, infrastructure design, and systems engineering for media and entertainment companies.

“The media industry is on the cusp of a revolution as companies rapidly shift from storing and distributing their assets in film and video form to digital formats,” stated IMT co-founder and CEO Bruce Lyon. “IMT’s mission is to help companies make a smooth transition by designing and building digital infrastructures that are cost effective and employ the best and most reliable technology.”

Along with Lyon, an Oscar winner for Technical Achievement, IMT’s team includes Chairman John Zanotti, former CEO of wireless entertainment company Astrum Digital and broadcaster Citicasters Inc., SVP of Sales Mike Braico, formerly Sun’s top media and entertainment sales executive, and CFO Jack Fluor, former director of finance at Spark Networks. Rob Kobrin, former SVP for Worldwide Product Marketing at Avid, recently joined the company as CTO.

IMT’s solutions utilize a broad range of technologies from a group of “best of breed” technology providers including Sun Microsystems, Apple, Isilon, StorageTek, Atempo, Microsoft, and Force 10 Networks.

In just 12 months of operation, IMT has compiled an impressive list of accomplishments. Its roster of clients includes Paramount, Technicolor Inc., Deluxe Film and Video, Fox Entertainment, Mainstreet Pictures, and DirecTV. It has designed a $1 million plus, state-of-the-art digital production studio for The Jim Henson Company to support the HD production of its new series Sid, The Science Kid. It has also designed an archiving system for Rhythm & Hues, one of Hollywood’s most successful special effects producers. The company is currently working with Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane and Mainstreet Pictures on an ambitious new project for the Web. Spurred by its success, IMT plans to shortly double the size of its Hollywood facility.

Lyon stated that IMT’s business is focused on media companies in Hollywood and elsewhere seeking real expertise in file based media workflows. “Designing an efficient, functional digital infrastructure requires special expertise. There is a lot on the line for companies that need to maximize performance while controlling costs,” he explained.
